Thoughts on the boy name Maverick?

11 years ago my late husband suggested Maverick for our unborn child. I loved the name for either a boy or a girl. It means "Respect for Life" and is a Native American translation. My eleven year old son is proud of his name, especially since it was a given to him by a father he adored. Go ahead and name your child Maverick, he will grow into it.
