Whatever happened to GOOD children's books?

Hey, I'm sure the generation behind us said the same thing *about* us. Every generation thinks these kind of things, lol. I'm sure kids today will grow up thinking they had a wonderful childhood and saying that the next crop of kids don't have it as good as they did.
