Why didn't he ever date me?

My very platonic guy friend I met close to a year ago confessed he liked me romantically in May. Well I didn't tell him I liked him back at first, then three weeks later I did. Then school went out, he left for college. We never had a first date, even though we both knew the feelings were there. School is back in, we have cl every day twice a day, still really close. But he won't flirt with me anymore. College and school and him running cross country was the reason he said he couldn't date me... I am busy too. BUT, (don't take this as one of those "well if he doesn't find me attractive he must be gay" things) I have noticed he hasn't dated anyone in the 5 years I have known of him. He has TONS of girl friends... no GIRLFRIEND gfs. He listens to madonna, lady gaga, and he identifies with girls more than guys, not to mention he talks feminine and walks feminine... when I first met him I thought he was... but I fell in love with his personality. He consistently says he isn't and he is sick of everyone questioning it, but he seems so... uninterested in women?!? Not just me, ALL. Opinions?
